FUZZY LOGIC BASED AUTOMATED SEED SOWING ROBOT

 Results 

·         Better selection of seed by applying the fuzzy logic for selecting the seed depending on the soil parameters. As soil parameters are uncertain, fuzzy logic concept is applied to select the seed.
·         Good crop yield by sowing the seed at proper distance between the seeds for the corresponding seed selected.
·         NPK level of the soil is increased by fertilizers spraying.
·         Seed growth is enhanced by spraying of fertilizers and pesticides

Figure 1 shows the hopper and sprayer mechanism which is used for spraying of fertilizers and water

Figure 2 represents the single seed selector mechanism to sow single seed at a time

Figure 3 shows the final robotic outer structure consisting of seed selector ,hopper ,spraying mechanism the circuit and the robot

   Advantages

§  Cost for labors is reduced.
§  Time consumption and speed is high.
§  Fuzzy logic helps the person by insisting to select the kind of seed for particular area.
§  By maintaining particular distance between the seeds while seed sowing helps in proper growth of plant.
§  It is possible to achieve uniformity in distribution of seeds.
§  Control over depth of seed placement.
§  The effect of accuracies in seed placement on plant stand is greater in case of  crops

   Limitations

§  This project doesn’t find its application in sowing seeds like small size millets
§  It is highly suitable for pulses and less suitable for grains.
·        Conclusion
Automation and artificial intelligence are the emerging technologies which are used in the field of agriculture to increase the production, decrease human efforts, enhance the quality of production, and increase the efficiency and also to decrease the cost for production. Fuzzy logic plays a major role in selection of seed with respect to the environmental conditions .Farmers cultivate same type of crop it’s a practice but according to the demand the production can be increased by adopting this technique therefore stabilizing the demand and supply .Through Automation human efforts can be reduced and nevertheless the quality and efficiency of production could be increased and also the cost of production could be decreased. Seed growth will be diminished if proper spacing is not maintained between the seeds in the same row and if the seed is not sown at a particular depth hence proper spacing is maintained between the seeds in the same row by using a servo motor for the seed chosen.
·        Future Work
Logistical approach can even be used for maintaining the distance between the seeds in the same row and in different rows and also for sowing seed at a particular depth as the distance as well as depth varies from seed to seed therefore the accuracy could be even more better and the person who don’t even know what agriculture actually is would chose the agricultural field.
  Applications:
     As the name indicates its mainly used in agriculture for the smart sowing of seed without much risk and involvement of the human effort .As its based on fuzzy the unknown person who don't know anything about agriculture would choose this product.
